have been using pi in home automation project control , monitor garage doors. software works great , hardware setup works in prototype im having issues connecting actual garage. in order know when door open or closed intended tap limit switches on system. there 1 @ each end of rail trolley hits , tell motor stop. measured them meter , output 5v signal when open , dump ground (the rail) 0v when closed. in circuit have these signals going optocouplers (via 200ohm resister) fed gpio on pi. issue im running connect 5v signal switch optocoupler, 5v signal drops around 1v , isnt enough trigger opctocoupler. have prototyped circuit 9v battery , 5v voltage regulator , works perfectly. idea why garage circuit dropping voltage when connect optocoupler?

the 5 volts measure switch coming via pull-up resistor.
