hi, totally ignorant rpi 3 can do.
have inserted flash drive music , plays each song individually. want play whole folder, @ random, itunes.

right software pi can quite lot of things, if can't find suitable software there's option of writing yourself.

in terms of playing selection of music randomly folder (or set of folders) @ mpd , various frontends.
