How to turn register_globals OFF with .htaccess? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hello together,

i tried solve issue searching forum 8 hrs , think time post question here instead of keeping on trying. whenever customize .htaccess file "php_flag register_globals off" 500 server error. at&t shared webhosting , operate on unix.

i use .htaccess turn register_globals off since understand more secure using php.ini has copied every folder of joomla installation.

yu may have no choice use php.ini, host might not allow use of .htaccess files, find out need contact host , ask advice server configuration. might able turn off account through own management interface.
