Problems removing Syndication component - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i tried uninstall syndication, , got 'failed' message, removed component list, although still present.  help?

this permissions problem configuration.php, have admit being floored have leave permissions @ 777 use admin???    wow! 

anyway, components missing list (i did syndication, , newsfeeds), , still need them off front page, syndication @ least.  how do it??
