i designing solar powered arduino due intelligent small organic farm irrigation control. using adafruit solar panel , li battery charger (http://www.adafruit.com/products/390), plus adafruit boost converter (http://www.adafruit.com/products/2030). lineup gets me 5.2vdc solar/li battery configuration.
my question how connect due in native way possible.
vin needs between 7-12vdc can't use that. adafruit , boost converters go 5vdc hence bit of constraint.
my plan connect output of boost converter (usb) directly native usb programming port of arduino. make native usb port input power source , not use communication. use usb programming port concurrently programming activities. in deployed solution sun power , programming port left unconnected.
i understand due smart enough select between usb , external power source, can contend pc driving 5v on usb programming port along boost converter driving 5v on native usb port.
things sharing wisdom?

i don't know answer wondering why need solar source while has programming usb source available use power?
