Applying User ID to Text Field

i posted in april , didn't receive responses. i'm hoping (fingers crossed) got buried , maybe has since come across solution.

question:
is there way automatically populate text field user's identification network?

for example, when log on our corporate network must type in userid , password. userid identifies me programs, applications, etc. go visit until log off.

i've used following script in previous pdfs doesn't work in designer.

f.value = global.myuserid;
